Andrew has lived in East London for 26 years, the last 20 of which have been in Hackney. He and his wife, who worked in a Hackney school for many years, have raised and educated their three children in the borough.

Andrew was the Chair of the Trustees who started the Hackney Foodbank in 2012. In 2004 he led a team which began a new church within the Church of England in Shoreditch and in 2024 became the parish priest of St Anne’s Church. Hoxton.
