Andrew started his own Architecture practice in 1993 and has been in partnership with Anthony Thistleton as Waugh Thistleton Architects Ltd since 1997. They have always been based in Shoreditch and have been very much part of the regeneration of the area.
His practice is involved in a diverse range of projects from large regeneration master plans in the borough to smaller work on individual buildings with both public, private and charitable clients. The vast majority of his work is in the Borough of Hackney and he has close links with both local people and politicians.
This wide ranging workload has given Andrew direct personal experience in many of the areas in which the Trust works. He has always been a great admirer of the Trust’s work and brings his experience in architecture, design, property development, construction and business to the Trust at Board level.
Andrew has worked for a number of years on many committees for Hackney Council, Universities and the RIBA. He enjoys the process of discussion - listening and contributing to healthy debate.
Andrew places great importance, both personally and professionally, on the role in the local community that the Trust carries out, its work and its values.
Andrew has lived in Shoreditch since 1989 and educated two children here.
