Lorna Lewis

Maternity Peer Mentoring Officer

Lorna Lewis

Lorna manages, develops and co-ordinates the mentoring scheme for Bump Buddies. She manages a caseload of service users and supports volunteers with their mentoring relationships, working in partnership with other voluntary and community programmes and statutory services.

Lorna is strongly committed to supporting and empowering women and their children to fulfil their potential. She has worked with families for over 15 years, after graduating with a degree in Psychology and Philosophy and training as a Primary school teacher. Lorna believes that early experiences can potentially have lifelong impacts; and that supporting mothers to bond with their babies, develop their social networks and gain awareness of, and confidently use, local services positively impacts all. She grew up in Hackney and has spent most of her life living and working in the borough and is keen to contribute to the community that she is part of.

When she is not at work she sits on various boards and community groups, including being a trustee of a local play organisation.
