Fred has managed the Community and Bilingual Stop Smoking Service for Shoreditch Trust since 2010. Her remit covers the strategic delivery and management of a consortium based smoking cessation service that delivers long term sustainable health benefits to some of the most disadvantaged people in the Hackney borough. In addition to managing a hospital subcontract and a team of 12 full time staff, sessional staff and Community Champion volunteers, she is a Level 3 advisor with her own caseload.
Fred is educated to Postgraduate level and has degrees in Economics and Public Policy and Post Compulsory Education. Her professional life has encompassed five years in Film and Television and seven years in the homelessness field. Her work in Health has included rolling out the national Get Walking Keep Walking programme whilst at the Ramblers’ Association.
Fred is passionate about social housing and spent five years as a housing management trustee. She is currently involved in the national Kill the Housing Bill (KtHB) campaign against the proposed Housing and Planning Bill which threatens to devastate the communities she lives and works in.
In her spare time Fred has enjoyed running and climbing and is proud to have more than 20 race medals including a half marathon memento. She is a keen DJ and has played more than 100 gigs including Shunt, the Secret Garden Party, the National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall, as well as the Freemasons Hall where she was thrilled to share a dressing room with Professor Green.
